Why Get Trained?

(under construction)

Goal

Our goal is to faithfully study the life of Jesus in community with other brothers and sisters, who are doing the same thing so that we can do what Jesus does: announcing and demonstrating the kingdom of God and making disciples who make disciples.

Overview (under construction)

Matthew 6:25-34 makes it clear that, rather than worrying about the things we need, Jesus wants us to “seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). To fulfill this teaching it is not enough to make sure that we maintain a personal time for prayer and Bible study. The instruction is not merely to seek God first but rather to seek his Kingdom first. God’s Kingdom comprises all those who follow Jesus. Thus, in order to seek his Kingdom first, we must be working together with other brothers and sisters in Christ to pursue and advance God’s agenda. This requires a change in our lifestyle and a commitment to being trained.

The Bible has a lot to say about the need for God’s people to be trained.
