| What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of conversations designed to explore the basics of the Christian faith, ask hard questions in a caring and judgment-free space. Questions like:

Why do bad things happen to good people?
What’s the purpose of life?
What’s next?

Life Church is using Alpha as part of our approach to sharing the good news of God’s Kingdom and the Lord Jesus with others.

| Life Church Alpha Team

The Life Church Alpha Team helps organize and lead our Alpha classes—typically made up of 3–4 committed team members. In the past, we’ve partnered with Awaken City Church, and we plan to continue offering Alpha both collaboratively and independently.

Make a Commitment to Lead
Serving on the Alpha Team requires much more than just showing up for Alpha Class! Your goal should be to completely free the pastoral staff from responsibility for the meetings. The buck stops with you!

Review this list and update as needed.
This is a very important step! No list is perfect and all programs change. It is critical for the team to make sure that they understand any changes that need to be made to our Alpha process.

Get schedule from the website and participate in Run Alpha Training and/or Run Alpha Team
Training Day offered by Boston City-Wide Alpha.
Determine Class Format
Determine if we will offer Alpha independently or in partnership as a joint Alpha class.
Plan the Details
Decide location
Set time and date to begin
Prepare and Promote
Explore Alpha Resource Documents and follow the Detailed Alpha Planning Checklist to create and advertise class beginning three months in advance. Work with Alpha New England to advertise class, get flyers and postcards.
Gather Feedback
Regularly collect feedback so that we can continually improve our Alpha classes.
